On the 5th of November 2017, A2 Club presents British Pop/Rock band The Kooks.
By their own admission, this quintessential Brit band’s history has been split into two very distinct chapters. The first, starting in 2004 and lasting until mid 2017, owes its inspiration to some of the best British bands of our time such as The Kinks, the Gorillaz and even American super star Bob Dylan. The second chapter began quite recently with the release of their latest album “Listen”. Taking a drastic turn this originally Pop/Rock group now finds its inspiration elsewhere entirely.
Although creating a strikingly different sound, finding their inspiration in jazz and funk, The Kooks do not disappoint and continue to deliver soulful, affectionate and whole hearted rock/pop songs, no matter how they experiment. The concert in Saint Petersburg is a continuation of their “The Best Of” tour and a celebration of this new chapter in their already critically acclaimed musical career. The Kooks will be playing some of their best work for us.
