Known for eccentric songs laden with an abundance of filthy language and not shying away from themes of alcoholism or other taboo subjects they have fast become a household name.
Their extensive use of wind instruments (trumpet, saxophone, trombone, tuba, saxhorn) in their compositions completes their unorthodox lyrics with a remarkable sound thus creating an extraordinary style. Leningrad exists outside of all genres and formats and always plays by its own rules.
Although often criticised for his contradictory and volatile personality, Leningrad’s permanent bandleader, Sergei Shnurov, is equally praised for his unrivalled talent and does not cease to amaze and delight his fans. Not for the faint hearted, an evening of strong language, swear words and unprintables, as well as, fun, laughter, and great musical talent awaits.
