In the spring and summer of 2018, the world-famous Cirque du Soleil will tour Russia with its incredible new show. This time they will shed some light on the fascinating world of insects during the OVO show. The Russian tour of the OVO show will start in St. Petersburg on April 28th, 2018 and will continue to Moscow, Kazan, Togliatti and Sochi.
The OVO show is the 25th production of Cirque du Soleil, created for the 25th anniversary of the company. The work of the director and choreographer, Deborah Kolker, has given the world of beetles and spiders grace, elegance and charm. The plot is as follows: from nowhere, in the world of insects, a mysterious egg appears. A clumsy and strange insect comes into to the world and immediately falls in love with a magnificent ladybug … Luckily his feelings do not remain unreciprocated.
Spectators will be able to spend “a day” in the company of the extremely curious, dangerous and beautiful inhabitants of the OVO world. Come and enjoy the sunrise and the joy of flight, experience a sense of fear and, of course, of love. Funny characters, bright colours, live Brazilian music and swift acrobatics, as well as beautiful costumes, will delight and enchant both adult and child.
A giant nine-meter flower and a humongous egg and enormous projection screens all come together to confuse perspectives and immerse the viewer into the world of bugs. One really feels like a tiny ant – part of the microcosm. Although small, it is still infinitely interesting and entertaining. Plunge into a new fantasy. The colony of charming insects that is OVO, is looking forward to meeting Russian audiences. The OVO show will appeal to a family audience and will introduce you to new facets of the Cirque du Soleil artists.
