Iron Away Clear Topper https://rnkdistributing.com/product/iron-away-clear-topper/ https://rnkdistributing.com/product/iron-away-clear-topper/#respond Fri, 29 Sep 2023 03:05:27 +0000 https://rnk.wpengine.com/?post_type=product&p=970 Embellish® Iron-Away Clear Topper is for use on the top surface of high pile fabrics such as: burlap, cuddle, fleece, low-pile fake fur, terry cloth, towels, velvet, and textured fabric. Embellish® Iron-Away Clear Topper is used on top of the item in the embroidery hoop. It keeps the thread elevated and prevents it from sinking into the fabric fiber. Embellish® Iron-Away Clear Topper acts as a “spacer” on top of the fabric, so the thread remains raised on top of the material. This topper remains embedded under the thread and prevents the fabric nap from poking through after multiple wash and dry cycles. It is also perfect for keeping decorative satin stitches raised when sewing. We also have a rinse-away topper.

It is also perfect for keeping decorative satin stitches raised when sewing. We also have a rinse-away topper.

Contents:

Proprietorial lightweight, high-quality, heat-soluble film.

To Use:

  1. Place one piece of Embellish® Iron-Away Clear Topper on the surface of the hooped item, bumpy side touching the fabric, and secure the outer corners with RNK® Embroidery Perfection Tape or machine-baste to prevent movement.Important – Do not use Embellish® Iron-Away Clear Topper underneath appliqué fabric.
  2. Embroider the design.

To Remove:

  1. Remove as much of the topper as possible by tearing it away.
  2. To remove the Embellish® Iron-Away Clear Topper in tight spaces, use the Embellish® Vinyl Weeding Tool. This works great inside of small lettering, reducing hand fatigue.
  3. Use the tip of an iron set at a low temp (Silk Setting) to remove any remaining topper. The tip of the iron must come in direct contact with the topper to remove it.

Caution – Using a high setting on the iron will cause the topper to liquefy and melt into the design. Test on a scrap piece of fabric to find the ideal iron temperature.

Laundering and Care:

Launder and dry the item according to the fabric material fiber content.

The light, tacky coating is needlefriendly, and the paper backing adheres to all digital cutting mats. This exclusive product is perfect for nonsewing projects because the fusible creates a permanent bond with the material. Use it on anything that can take the heat of an iron. Make quick projects such as: no-sew appliqué baby onesies or iron shapes to paper bags or cardstock for fun party favors.

Contents:

Made in America. Constructed of soft, woven fibers with a pressure-sensitive, needle-friendly adhesive on one side and a permanent fusible coating on the opposite side.

To Use:

  1. Pre-heat the fabric using a medium/high temp (Wool Setting, No Steam) to prep the fabric and remove moisture. It is also recommended to pre-wash the fabric (no softener or dryer sheets) being used as an appliqué to remove any sizing. This will ensure a good bond.
  2. Fuse the webbing to the wrong side of the fabric using a medium/high temp (Wool Setting, No Steam) on your iron. The fusible side of Embellish® Foolproof Repositionable Webbing is the soft/shiny side. Hold the iron in place for 10 seconds, let the fabric cool and then flip the piece over and press again on the fabric side for another 10 seconds. Make sure you have a good bond. If not, repeat the fusing process for 5 seconds on each side instead of 10 seconds. Let the fabric cool before using.Important – All irons heat differently. The iron temperature given is a starting point. If you find that you are not getting a good fuse, slowly increase your iron’s temperature until you achieve a good bond between the fabric and the webbing. Using too high a temp can cause the permanent bond to activate prematurely before it adheres the fabric.
  3. Cut with scissors, a fabric die or a digital cutter (place the paper side down on the digital cutting mat).
  4. Draw an “X” on the release paper backing, using the Embellish® Vinyl Weeding Tool. This will perforate the paper so it can easily be torn away, exposing the sticky surface.
  5. Position the appliqué piece on the garment and fuse with the iron, using a medium/high temp (Wool Setting, No Steam). Hold the iron over the fabric for 10 seconds. Let the material cool.
  6. Finish by stitching around the appliqué with a satin stitch, decorative stitch or in-the-hoop.

Laundering and Care:

Launder and dry the item according to the fabric material fiber content.

Dense Water-Soluble Stabilizer with Adhesive

Embellish® Sticky Rinse-Away Mesh is a dense fibrous, water-soluble stabilizer with a light, sticky dissolvable coating and is used for items that are distinguished as “hard to hoop” or fabrics that could be harmed/ marked by the hooping process such as: baby onesies, necklines, collars, and cuffs. Embellish® Sticky Rinse- Away Mesh washes away clean with no messy residue and is excellent for supporting embroidery on delicate and sheer fabrics such as: batiste, chiffon, netting, organdy, organza, tulle, voile and sheer scarfs. The added adhesive prevents the fabric from shifting while embroidering, resulting in perfect outline stitches. Unlike other water-soluble stabilizers that are clear, the mesh properties of this stabilizer are not prone to stretching from embroidering dense designs with heavy needle penetration. Also available in a non-sticky version, Embellish® Rinse-Away Mesh.

Contents:

Proprietorial high-density per square inch, fibrous, woven, water-soluble fibers. Contains a pressuresensitive, needle-friendly, water-dissolvable coating.

Stitch Count:

Holds up to 12,000 embroidery stitches in a 4”x 4” hoop.

To Use:

  1. Hoop one piece of Embellish® Sticky Rinse-Away Mesh with the release paper (shiny side) facing up.
  2. Draw an “X” on the surface with the Embellish® Vinyl Weeding Tool, taking care not to puncture the stabilizer. This will perforate the release paper so it can easily be torn away, exposing the sticky surface.
  3. Finger-press the wrong side of the item to the sticky surface and smooth out the wrinkles.
  4. If the design has more than 12,000 stitches in a 4” x 4” hoop, “float” a piece of Embellish® Rinse-Away Mesh under the hoop for added support. *Note – If sticking down a garment such as a baby onesie or T-Shirt, prep the piece with the proper/recommended Embellish® stabilizer before sticking it down.
  5. It is recommended to slow the speed of your machine to “600” stitches per minute.
  6. Add an embroidery topper on top of the hooped item (either Embellish® Rinse-Away Clear Topper or Embellish® Iron-Away Clear Topper).
  7. Embroider the design. If your machine has an auto-baste function, it is recommended to baste the design and topper before embroidering.

To Remove:

  1. Remove the material from the hoop.
  2. Pull back and trim away as much of the stabilizer as possible.
  3. Soak the material in room temperature, soft water and change the water often until all the stabilizer and adhesive dissolves. Once the stabilizer and adhesive are dissolved, do a final rinse under room temperature, running water.

Important – It is necessary to use “soft” water to get optimal rinse results. If your water is hard or has high mineral deposits, it may be necessary to add a water softener to the bath while soaking your garment.

Laundering and Care:

Launder and dry the item according to the fabric material fiber content.

Fusible Soft Cutaway https://rnkdistributing.com/product/fusible-soft-cutaway/ https://rnkdistributing.com/product/fusible-soft-cutaway/#respond Wed, 27 Sep 2023 20:30:23 +0000 https://rnk.wpengine.com/?post_type=product&p=883 Embellish® Fusible Soft Cutaway is a premium, fusible, soft cutaway stabilizer. It is a green product made from 70% recycled fibers and is used with all machine embroidery designs on non-stable fabrics such as: athletic wear, costumes, flannel, knits, T-Shirts, onesies, rain jackets, polos, pashmina’s, wool, and wool blend acrylic scarfs. Embellish® Fusible Soft Cutaway is sheer and directional, created with a unique embossed pattern for added support. The added temporary fusible prevents the fabric from shifting while hooping and embroidering, resulting in perfect outline stitches. Because of the sheerness of this cutaway, it will not shadow through the fabric or garment. Premium nylon fibers are superior to polyester because nylon is super-structured and resists stretching where polyester stretches. It is also available in a nonfusible version.

Sheer Non-Directional Fusible Cutaway Stabilizer

Embellish® Fusible Soft Cutaway is a premium, fusible, soft cutaway stabilizer.

Contents:

Made in America. Nylon (not polyester) mesh cutaway created from 70% recycled fibers with a light temporary fusible. 2.0 oz.

Stitch Count:

Holds up to 10,000 embroidery stitches in a 4” x 4” hoop.

To Use:

  1. Fuse one layer of the stabilizer to the back of the material. Be sure to use a piece at least one inch larger than the outer perimeter of the hoop to ensure proper stabilization.*Important – Use a low temp (Silk Setting) on your iron. Do NOT touch the surface of your iron to Embellish® Fusible Soft Cutaway, press from the fabric side or use a press cloth (natural fibers such as muslin or cotton). All irons heat differently. The iron temperature given is a starting point. If you find that you are not getting a good fuse, slowly increase your iron’s temperature until you achieve a good bond between the fabric and stabilizer and ensure the stabilizer can be removed from the unembroidered fabric. If it won’t release easily, the iron temperature is too high.
  2. Hoop the material along with the fused stabilizer, making sure the material and stabilizer are taut.
  3. If the design has more than 10,000 stitches in a 4”x4” hoop, then fuse a second piece of Embellish® Fusible Soft Cutaway at a 45-degree angle. Fusing the second layer at a 45-degree angle creates the ultimate stability and softness. Another option for a second layer, instead of fusing another piece of soft cutaway, is to “float” Embellish® Dissolvable Tearaway under the hoop. Floating the dissolvable tearaway is a good option when you have objects that have open areas next to solid filled regions (like a capital W shape) on thin knit fabric that wants to pucker in the unfilled areas. We recommend you test the design on fabric, with the two different products as the second layer, before applying it to the final project.
  4. Add an embroidery topper on top of the hooped item (either Embellish® Rinse-Away Clear Topper or Embellish® Iron-Away Clear Topper).
  5. Embroider the design.

To Remove:

  1. Remove the material from the hoop. Remove the topper, following the topper product sheet, found in this workbook.
  2. Hold your fingers over the bobbin thread and tear away as much of the dissolvable “floater,” if applicable.
  3. Peel away the Embellish® Fusible Soft Cutaway back to the design and trim.
  4. If the iron temperature was too hot during the fusing process of the Embellish® Fusible Soft Cutaway, it might be necessary to re-heat the stabilizer using a Silk Setting for it to release from the material.

Laundering and Care:

Launder and dry the item according to the fabric material fiber content.

Embellish® Soft Cutaway is a premium nylon cutaway stabilizer and is made from 70% recycled fibers, making it environmentally friendly. Contents:

Made in America. Nylon (not polyester) mesh cutaway created from 70% recycled fibers. 2.0 oz.

Stitch Count:

Holds up to 10,000 embroidery stitches in a 4” x 4” hoop.

To Use:

  1. For “in-the-hoop” quilting:
    1. Place one piece of Embellish® Soft Cutaway in the embroidery frame.
    2. Baste one or two layers of Embellish® Angel Loft Bamboo to the hooped stabilizer.
    3. Begin building the embroidered quilt design.
    4. Another fun technique for in the hoop quilting is to fuse Embellish® Premium Fusible Batting to the wrong side of cotton quilting fabric. Place a piece of Embellish® Soft Cutaway underneath the quilt sandwich and hoop all the layers, making sure everything is “taut”, in the hoop.
  2. For free-standing embroidery:
    1. Place two layers of Embellish® Soft Cutaway in the hoop, with one at a 45-degree angle. Tighten the hoop, making sure the stabilizer is “tight as a drum.”
    2. Embroider the design directly onto the stabilizer.

To Remove:

  1. For in-the-hoop quilting, the cutaway is soft and does not need to be removed.
  2. For free-standing embroidery, keep the design in the hoop. Screw on the curved or pointed tip to the end of the RNK® Heat Craft Tool. Plug in the tool and allow it to heat up for a few minutes. With the design still in the hoop, quickly run the hot tip of the tool around the perimeter of the design, to melt away the nylon stabilizer. Topstitch to your material or project desired.

Laundering and Care:

Launder and dry the item according to the fabric material fiber content.

To Use:

  1. Fuse one layer of the stabilizer to the back of the material. Be sure to use a piece at least one inch larger than the outer perimeter of the hoop to ensure proper stabilization. * Important – Use a low temp (Silk Setting) on your iron. Do NOT touch the surface of your iron to Embellish® Fusible Dissolvable Tearaway, press from the fabric side or use a press cloth (natural fibers such as muslin or cotton). All irons heat differently. The iron temperature given is a starting point. If you find that you are not getting a good fuse, slowly increase your iron’s temperature, until you achieve a good bond, between the fabric and stabilizer and ensure the stabilizer can be torn away easily. If it won’t release easily when torn away, the iron temperature is too high.
  2. Hoop the material along with the fused stabilizer, making sure the material and stabilizer are taut.
  3. If the design has more than 10,000 stitches in a 4”x 4” hoop, “float” a piece of non-fusible Embellish® Dissolvable Tearaway under the hoop for added support.

  2. Hold your fingers over the bobbin thread and tear away as much of the stabilizer as possible, starting with the “floater.”
  3. If the iron temperature was too hot during the fusing process of the Embellish® Fusible Dissolvable Tearaway, it might be necessary to re-heat the stabilizer, using a Silk Setting, for it to release from the material.
  4. *Optional Method for Delicate Embroidery or Stitching – Wet around the edge of the design using a Q-Tip, sponge, foam paint brush or envelope sealer. Wait about 5 seconds to allow the water to activate the water-soluble portion of the stabilizer. Or, lay a damp cloth on the back side, until fibers start to dissolve. This method is perfect for a project that you are not going to launder.

Laundering and Care:

Launder and dry the item according to the fabric material fiber content. Stabilizer remnants will continue to wash out in the laundry with a mild detergent and agitation.

The fusible coating is temporary, so it pulls away easily when ironed at the proper temperature. It is used to support decorative sewing stitches and large or dense embroideries on stable woven fabric such as: cotton, duck cloth, twill, and denim. It features a multi-directional tear capability, easily pulling away clean from the embroidery design, for a crisp look on the front and back. Also available in a non-fusible version, which is to be used as additional support by floating a piece under the embroidery hoop when the design stitch count is more than one layer of Embellish® Fusible Bold Tearaway can sustain.

It is made with a combination of 50% soft tearaway fibers and 50% water-soluble fibers, making it very easy to remove from embroidery and machine decorative stitches. For embroidery, use with light to medium, open airy designs on fabrics such as: cotton, linen, batiste, kitchen flour sack towels, rayon, and silk. It is also available in a fusible and sticky version. Embellish® Dissolvable Tearaway is recommended to be used as a “floater” under the hoop, when used in conjunction with Embellish® Fusible Dissolvable Tearaway, that has been ironed to the back of the woven fabric. If the material cannot be ironed or is too small to be hooped, then we recommend using Embellish® Sticky Tearaway as it’s made from the same 50/50 base.

Using Embellish® Dissolvable Tearaway as a “floater” adds additional support to the design and fabric, when using a design that has more than 10,000 stitches in a 4”x 4” hoop. When laundered, the water soluble fibers dissolve leaving behind a very soft embroidery.
